چکیده

Quantum Molecular Dynamics (QMD) calculations are used to study the expansion phase in central collisions between heavy nuclei. The final state of such a reaction can be understood as the result of a entropy conserving expansion starting from a compact source. The properties of this hypothetic source, however, are in conflict with the assumptions used in fireball models. Moreover, this hypothetical source is not formed in the dynamical evolution of the system.

Nuclear Physics is the branch of physics that deals with the properties and structure of matter on the hadronic level. In this article we review briefly the history of this field, which has a major role in the development of our understanding of nature. We then proceed to give an outline of a current perspective of the field and of some of the issues that are now on its frontiers.

The second unique forbidden electron capture (EC) decay in 123 Te is calculated in the Proton-Neutron Quasi-Particle Random Phase Approximation (pn-QRPA), making use of Skyrme-type residual interactions. As in the allowed Gamow-Teller channel, the forbidden nuclear matrix elements depend sensitively on the competition between particle-hole and particle-particle correlations. Theory provides a l...

Virtual Compton scattering off the nucleon has been studied in the one–loop approximation of the linear sigma model. The three generalized scalar polarizabilities of the nucleon have been calculated and compared with the existing theoretical predictions. In particular, we find that only two of the three scalar polarizabilities are independent observables.
